Now accepting film submissions:
Have you made a vampire or gothic themed movie? Then we want to see it! ANY LENGTH, ANY FORMAT. Selected films will be screened in between the Vampire film series. Filmmakers will be given the opportunity to do a Q&A after each screening.

What is a Gothic Film?
Dictionary Definition — Goth-ic  adj.

1. (a) Of or relating to the Goths or their language. (b) Germanic; Teutonic.
2. Of or relating to the Middle Ages; medieval.
3. (a) Of or relating to an architectural style prevalent in western Europe from the 12th through the 15th century and characterized by pointed arches, rib vaulting, and a developing emphasis on verticality and the impression of height. (b) Of or relating to an architectural style derived from medieval Gothic.
4. Of or relating to painting, sculpture, or other art forms prevalent in northern Europe from the 12th through the 15th century.
5. often gothic Of or relating to a style of fiction that emphasizes the grotesque, mysterious, and desolate.
6. gothic Barbarous; crude.

We will accept all films that could be classified in this context. Therefore you could submit a documentary about Goth people or about Gothic architecture. Or you could submit a narrative or experimental film that emphasizes the grotesque, mysterious or desolate.

Bloodiest Vampire Picture
Scariest Film
Best Vampire Portrayal (acting award)
Outstanding Film Short
Outstanding Film Feature
Best Gothic Representation


Submission

Film Submission Deadline TBA 2005

The IPA will accept films that have been produced in Any Length & Any Format. For festival consideration please submit a VHS copy. If selected you will have to provide your film on a DV, mini DV, or DVD formats for screening purposes. Filmmakers must own all rights to their films and have valid releases from all parties involved (actors, writers, etc.)

Please fill out the Entry Form and Release Form. Please mail to the International Press Academy with a check for $25 made out to the International Press Academy.
