International Press Academy honors Lohud celeb Ellen Burstyn

Legendary actress Ellen Burstyn, a longtime Rockland resident who recently sold her Nyack home, is heading to California this month to accept a prestigious honor from the International Press Academy.

The Oscar, Tony and Emmy winner will receive the Mary Pickford Award for her outstanding artistic contribution to the entertainment industry. It is one of the highest honors bestowed by the International Press Academy, a global association of professional entertainment journalists recognizing accomplishments in film, television and digital entertainment.

The award will be presented during the 19th Annual Satellite Awards, taking place Feb. 15 at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City.

Past recipients of the Mary Pickford Award include former Pound Ridge resident Susan Sarandon.
