Thank you, International Press Academy, for recognising Matt Ross’ beautiful original story, “Captain Fantastic”. This award means a great deal to a relatively small, independent movie like ours. With the encouraging attention that such an honour brings, many more people are made aware of our movie’s existence and are likely to make an effort to see it. I accept this prize on behalf of everyone who helped Matt make “Captain Fantastic”, and i dedicate it to my mother, Grace, who taught me to appreciate extraordinary movie stories when I was a little boy. Thank you one and all.
